Window blinds add flavor and enhance the overall appeal and
look of your home. But if they are dirty they would only also make your home
dirty as well. That is why you should really clean them regularly. Not only
will your home look clean and tidy always, you will also capitalize on the
beauty of the blinds and the entire room. Most of all, you and your family will
also be safer and healthier at home.
Aluminum is generally easier to clean if compared to wood
blinds because it is more durable. You can simply get an ordinary or chemically
treated dust cloth and wipe the slats. Alternatively, you can use the brush
attachment of the vacuum. Simply tilt the slats up or to one side and vacuum
that specific side. Then the slats to the other side or down so you can clean
the other side as well. If the dirt is hard to remove, you have no choice but
to use some a damp cloth with mid detergent. You could also put the whole thing
down and clean the dirt off in the tub.
Wooden window blinds are more delicate so you should be
careful when cleaning them. Wood does not want moisture so washing them with
water is not a good idea. You should wipe it using a soft dust cloth, a sock or
a cotton gloves instead. You could also use the brush attachment of your vacuum
or a small paintbrush. If you do this regularly, cleaning would always be fast
and easy. Not only will you enjoy the beauty of your home but you will benefit
from having a clean home too.
